Are you an experienced, dedicated, and passionate Registered Manager ready to launch a brand new children's home and shape futures? Ainsworth Recruitment is thrilled to be working with a Good Ofsted regulated organisation that puts young people first, fostering positive environments where they can thrive.

We're searching for an exceptional leader to head up their Brand New 4-bed children's home in Haverhill, Suffolk. This is a fantastic chance to embed your values and ethos from the ground up, working closely with other agencies and professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.


About the Role:

As the Registered Manager, you'll be accountable for delivering outstanding care to young people aged 11-17, many of whom exhibit challenging behaviour. This isn't just about day-to-day management; it's about strategic planning, continuous improvement, and practical leadership in childcare.

You'll be instrumental in:

  • Delivering High-Quality Care: Ensuring all care services are delivered to the highest standards, focusing on achieving the best outcomes for each child.

  • Strategic Planning: Contributing to the home's development and continuously improving childcare standards.

  • Leadership & Support: Organising, supervising, and mentoring staff, managing work patterns, facilitating care-focused training, and accessing appropriate support services.

  • Operational Excellence: Overseeing all day-to-day management matters, ensuring an appropriate staff presence to meet all childcare needs.

We need 2 dedicated professionals who shares our client's commitment and passion for making a real difference.


Essential experience and qualifications:

  • Management Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years' management experience in a children's residential setting.

  • Challenging Behaviour Expertise: Proven experience working effectively with young people aged 11-17 who exhibit challenging behaviour.

  • Relevant Qualifications: An NVQ Level 5 in Management and a minimum NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People.

  • Leadership Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong leadership abilities.

  • Knowledge of Regulations: A thorough understanding of the Children's Act 1989 and Care Standards Act 2000 relating to Children's Homes Regulations, alongside robust safeguarding procedures.

  • Flexibility: Ability to arrange your own work rota, which may include evening, weekend, and night duties, ensuring continuous appropriate staff presence.
