Requirements:
About You
Essential
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Deputy Manager or Home Manager within children’s residential care
Proven ability to lead a staff team, manage performance, and maintain a positive culture
Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards
Experience supporting children with EBD needs (solo or multi‑bed homes)
Skilled in developing care plans, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high‑quality documentation
Comfortable with on‑call responsibilities (varies by role)
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with external agencies, families, and professionals
Qualifications Required
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare – essential or willingness to work towards
Up‑to‑date safeguarding training
Full UK driving licence (required for most roles)
