Description:

The Opportunity
Ainsworth Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a high-growth, international pharmaceutical services provider to appoint a Head of Sales & Marketing for Europe. Following the strategic acquisition of a high-value product, our client is establishing a dedicated division to spearhead its commercialization across the continent.
This is a "founding" leadership role. You will be responsible for building the commercial infrastructure from the ground up, initially launching in 6–8 key European markets, with a strategic mandate to expand into the US market by 2027–2028.
The Role: Strategic Architect & Team Builder
As the Head of Sales & Marketing, you will own the end-to-end commercial lifecycle of the newly acquired portfolio. Your first 90 days will be critical, focusing on rapid team mobilization and operational setup.
Key Responsibilities:
Division Setup: Lead the design and launch of the new European business unit, ensuring all operational and commercial frameworks are fit for purpose.
Talent Acquisition: Recruit, onboard, and lead a high-performing team of specialists across multiple territories to support the European rollout.
Commercial Strategy & Tenders: Oversee all pricing, tendering, and contracting activities. You will ensure market access is secured and maintained through robust value-based agreements.
International Scaling: Direct the phase-one launch in 6–8 European markets, creating the blueprint for the subsequent 2027/28 US expansion.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with Global Leads to align marketing strategies with local market needs, ensuring a seamless patient-centric approach.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a "Super-Connector"—a leader who thrives in the "grey space" of a new launch and possesses the rare ability to bridge high-level strategy with granular execution.
Requirements:
Pharma Leadership: 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record in a Director-level commercial role.
Launch Expertise: Demonstrable experience in building divisions or launching products across multiple European markets.
Therapeutic Knowledge: While broad experience is valued, Oncology experience is highly desirable given the portfolio's focus.
Commercial Acumen: Deep expertise in the Tender and Contracting landscape within the UK and Europe.
Agility: A "start-up" mindset within a corporate framework; you must be comfortable recruiting and leading remote teams.
Availability: Must be able to commence the role in early March 2026 to hit critical launch milestones.
