The Opportunity

As the Commercial Director, with a primary focus on sales growth, you'll play a pivotal role in driving significant expansion by identifying, developing, and securing high-value national contracts. You'll be a key influencer, leading strategic sales initiatives and expertly navigating the complexities of bids and tenders, with a particular focus on expanding market share in residential home care and complex care sectors. This is a highly autonomous role that requires exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive national sales growth strategy to achieve ambitious revenue targets, with a specific focus on expansion in residential home care and complex care.

  • Identify, pursue, and secure large-scale national contracts within the healthcare sector, including new opportunities in home care and complex care.

  • Lead the entire bid and tender process, from initial qualification to successful submission and negotiation.

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team, including the Marketing Manager, Account Managers, and Bid Manager, ensuring their efforts align with commercial objectives.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at a national level.

  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activities.

  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reports.

  • Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, championing the agency's growth initiatives.

Requirements:

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior healthcare sales leadership role, ideally at a Director level, with a focus on national accounts and demonstrable sales growth.

  • Demonstrable success in strategic selling, securing significant contracts within the healthcare sector.

  • Ideally, experience across all areas of healthcare sales, with a strong emphasis on residential home care and complex care.

  • Extensive experience with the full lifecycle of bids and tenders, including drafting compelling proposals and negotiating complex agreements.

  • Strong understanding of the UK healthcare landscape, including relevant regulations and commissioning processes.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop diverse teams, including marketing, bids, and account management, to achieve ambitious sales targets.

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a remote environment.

  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally as required.

  • Full UK driving license.
